Dieppe is on the Petitcodiac River east of its twin city, Moncton. Dieppe forms the south eastern part of the Greater Moncton area which is said to be "The gateway to Acadia" because of its close proximity the Acadian shore. Dieppe was formerly called "Leger Corner" and it received it current name in 1946 to honour Canadian soldiers killed in the 1942 raid in Dieppe, France.

Dieppe is currently the fastest growing community of the Atlantic Provinces and they have several attractions to support their rising population. Dieppe is home to Champlain Place, the largest shopping mall in the province and the largest single-story mall east of Montreal. Dieppe also has the busiest airport in New Brunswick, The Greater Moncton International Airport. Crystal Palace, an indoor amusement park, is a great place to take the kids. Dieppe has several historic buildings and the city has just gathered together 13 acres of land in the centre of the city to become Dieppe's vibrant new city centre. Dieppe even offers a good transit system to get around their fast growing community.

Dieppe New Brunswick accommodations include hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts.
