Hopewell Cape is situated in the south eastern corner of New Brunswick, as part of Albert County, on the shores of the Petitcodiac River. The first settlers to arrive in Hopewell Cape were the Acadians, who came in 1698 and later built many dykes. Despite their early arrive, the Acadians where not the first to arrive here. The Mi'kmaq had first discovered the land. At one time, Hopewell Cape was a thriving lumber community, but today, the town focuses more on its tourism industry. Hopewell Cape is positioned just 35.5 km (22.1 mi.) southeast of Moncton.

Hopewell Cape is home to the Albert County Museum, which brings light to the history of Hopewell Cape, featuring many heritage buildings, exhibits and displays regarding shipbuilding and other various industries of the past. The Hopewell Rocks, home to immense tides, rare rock formations and marine life, brings insight into all the land here. Hopewell also features hiking tours, sea kayaking tours, fine dining, shopping, excellent scenery and much more.

Hopewell Cape accommodations include bed and breakfasts, inns, motels and campgrounds.
