Hampton is positioned in the southern region of New Brunswick, a total of 38.1 km (23.7 mi.) northeast of Saint John, traveling on Highway 1. United Empire Loyalists originally founded Hampton in 1783. As well, Hampton is situated in Kings County, acting as the shire town for its county.
