Cambridge-Narrows, a combination of what used to be two separate communities, became one municipality in 1966. Cambridge and Narrows are separated by Canaan River. Even with the coming together of the two communities, the total population is still less than one thousand residents.

In the 1800s, lumber and shipbuilding were key industries here. Farming is also a key industry in Cambridge-Narrows. Today, tourism is a highlighted industry, especially in the summer time. Cambridge-Narrows in positioned 71.3 km (44.3 mi.) away from Fredericton, traveling east along Highway 2. H. Erb's Herbs, an organic herb farm just outside Cambridge-Narrows, allows visitors the opportunity to gain insight into the development of many different types of herbs. Its majestic location is a great place to spend the day and absorb the scenic country-side.

Cambridge-Narrows is home to an art gallery (open in the summer months) that features various types of art, ranging from sculptures to paintings. Also enjoy fishing, kayaking, boating, hiking and the vibrant colours of the trees and farmers fields.
