Blackville belongs to Northumberland County and is positioned centrally in the province of New Brunswick along the Southwest Miramichi River. Blackville is a small community with nearly one thousand residents, and is mostly a lumbering town, though its main sawmill recently closed. Blackville is also a part of the fishing industry, as well as the tourism industry. Blackville is also 129 km (80.2 mi.) northeast of Fredericton, traveling on Highway 8.

Blackville is home to the Walls Historic House Blackville, which is actually a monument commemorating Rev. Victor B. Walls, a former missionary and the leader of the Naparima College back in 1924 until 1953. Blackville Park is an excellent place to witness the pretty views of both local rivers, hike the many trails and picnic under the sun. Blackville also offers fishing and hunting trips, fine dining, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fly-fishing and much more.
