Grand Falls is approximately 50 km (31 mi.) south of Edmundston with ready access to Atlantic Canada and New England in the USA. The regions contains valleys, two rivers, countless streams and lakes, and of course, a spectacular waterfall. Great Falls is the largest waterfall east of Niagara Falls, with a 5 m (16 ft.) circumference and a 23 m (75 ft.) drop. Grand Falls is an agro-industrial community nestled on both sides of the gorge. Grand Falls is the only Canadian city with a name in both official languages, Grand Falls and Grand-Sault.

Every summer Grand Falls celebrates its contribution to agriculture with the Regional Potato Festival occurring at the end of June and the beginning of July. Grand Falls also has a Farmers Market in the summer months providing local produce and different activities. Grand Falls stays busy in the winter with their Winter Festival including activities such as Igloo building, Hockey games and Bond Fires. Grand Falls also offers several hiking trails along their spectacular Water Fall.
