Petit-Rocher, a small community, is located on the northern shores of New Brunswick on the shores of Chaleur Bay. Petit-Rocher was first settled by the Acadians sometime around 1755. First permanent settlement didn't come until 1797, when three settlers arrived from Bathurst. The name, Petit Rocher, is a French term referring to a rock outside the community. The main industries in Petit-Rocher are fishing, forestry, agriculture and zinc mining. Petit-Rocher is located just 20.1 km (12.5 mi.) northwest of Bathurst.

Petit-Rocher is home to the Rendez-vous Acadien Festival, which is an annual festival that includes exhibits, fireworks, games and more. Petit-Rocher also offers fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hunting, swimming, hiking, beautiful sunsets and vast amounts of breath-taking seaside scenery. As well, the Mines and Minerals Interpretation Centre of New Brunswick is situated in Petit-Rocher, offering intriguing facts about the local mining industry. The village itself is a scenic one, full of history and hospitality.
