Nigadoo is situated within the confines of Chaleur Bay, just as the Nigadoo River exits into it. Nigadoo belongs to Gloucester County, in the northeastern portion of New Brunswick. Home to roughly one thousand permanent residents, the majority of Nigadoo inhabitants are of Acadian origin.

Nigadoo is positioned along Highway 11 in Gloucester County. The town name is believed to translate into meaning "a place to hide," and is derived from the Mi'kmaq people. Bathurst is just 15.3 km (9.5mi.) south of Nigadoo. Nigadoo is home to the Parc du Vieux Moulin, where visitors can enjoy a nice swim in the water, or a family picnic.
