Chipman is a community of about one and a half thousand residents, located in central New Brunswick, 82.3 km (51.1 mi.) northeast of Fredericton. Chipman is a member of Queens County, positioned on the Salmon River. The town name comes from Ward Chipman Jr., former chief justice of New Brunswick.

Notable industries during Chipman's inception include forestry and coal. Chipman is home to a covered bridge, the Gaspereau River Number two, which was constructed in 1913. Fishing, swimming, golfing, spending the day at the beach, sight seeing and an annual summer festival are just a few activities and events of interest in Chipman in the summer months. Many sports can be played in Chipman, including tennis, mini-golf, volleyball, baseball, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, ice-fishing and, of course, hockey.
